Background

Julia grew up in Ukraine, in the grey and depressing post-soviet environment, observing that people dealt best with the hardships of life through humour. Since she was a kid she enjoyed memorising anecdotes and telling them to grown-ups and friends, enjoying their laughs. She moved out from the country in her 20th, lived in Poland and Sweden, learning to live and adapt in the new cultures. She often felt lonely and not finding sense of belonging. Eventually, she noticed that sharing similar sense of humour connects people more than sharing ethnicity. Dark and edgy jokes especially allow to connect with people on the deeper level as effectively as repel boring ones. ##Hobbies Julia explores many creative forms. She finds expression on the physical level though flow arts and fire spinning. She brings forth music she is passionate about as she performs DJs sets - which allows emotional expression. Finally, she seeks to propel expression on the intellectual level though comedy and humour by bringing her stand-up material to the wider audiences. ##Stan-up experience Julia grew up in the creative family where it was a tradition to write songs, poems or speeches for family members birthdays and big occasions. Julia was a part of the school theatre, having learned how to be on stage be comfortable to perform in front of strangers. She utilised this experience to entertain people on the private parties and creative festivals settings where the open mike stage would be available.
