Stand-up is a new thing for me, but I've been writing most of my life. It’s taken many forms — even spoken word onstage for a while. But this stand-up thing is a rush. Either you bomb and you have to run before it explodes, or you get the people laughing, but the MC's got you on a clock and hauls your ass outta there anyway.

My favorite comic, probably George Carlin…but I'm not like him. I have, however, used his seven dirty words–which is really 10 dirty words–earlier in life in my spoken word. I can't help but love the feel of those words slithering across my tongue.
