Scary Jerry is a California transplant who’s lived in Sweden since 1989. Beginning in August 2025, his goal is to get onstage once a week, trying to figure out stand-up and testing out new material. Check out: www.scaryjerry.se

He’s new to stand-up comedy, but he’s been writing most of his life. It’s taken many forms—even spoken word onstage for a while. He doesn’t see himself primarily as a performer. He’s a writer, bringing some of his work into a new context and finally meeting a live audience with it.
What to Expect

Language, cultural confusion, mortality, and life’s weirder moments. I tend to get ambushed by the absurd—then chase it down to see where it leads. Sometimes it’s a cup with trust issues. Sometimes it’s a grammar rule I probably shouldn't find sexy. But underneath it all, I’m celebrating people and life.

My favorite comic, probably George Carlin…but I'm not like him. I have, however, used his seven dirty words–which is really 10 dirty words–earlier in life in my spoken word. I can't help but love the feel of those words slithering across my tongue.
